In terms of low smartphone sales and weak performance in the consumer electronics market, Qualcomm senior vice President Katuzan said that the slow growth in most electronics markets is mainly affected by external factors such as inflation, and the recovery will not be seen until at least the second half of 2023 amid heavy inventory. Katuzan also said Qualcomm needs to move from a communications company to a connected company, promoting connected processing power in areas including PCS, virtual reality and autonomous driving as a priority area of focus.
