The main benefits of 10 gigabit networks are the transferring of large files and simultaneous communication between multiple devices.
Other application scenarios, in general, gigabit networks can achieve. For example, real-time playback of 4K video only requires 25Mbps at the minimum, and 45Mbps ~ 75Mbps for better picture quality; 8K video requires 90Mbps to 300Mbps; VR video of the same quality requires more bandwidth, but not more than the maximum rate of gigabit networks.
The bigger significance of the 10 gigabit network may be that the communication rate of the network devices connected to it is the same as that of the local devices connected to USB 3.0. That means the Internet and local devices, on a 10 gigabit network, can be treated as being on the same "data bus".
For example, the speed of a local hard disk is different from that of a network hard disk. You may not be able to tell the difference of using a 10 gigabit network. Therefore, in a 10 gigabit network, the local hard disk can be completely replaced by the network hard disk, and the data storage is networked.
